How long should I prepare?
A minimum of 30–40 hours, including all video lectures, flashcards, and practice questions. Treat that as a floor, not a ceiling. Your background and pace will determine the rest.

Do I need to purchase the exam separately?
Yes. You’ll purchase your exam directly from IAPP.
Should I become an IAPP member before registering for the exam?
Yes. Membership gets you a significant discount on exam registration. Note that it can take a few business days for the system to recognize your membership, so plan accordingly.
Should I take the exam at home or at a test center?
A test center, if possible. It controls for variables like system compatibility, network instability, and overly strict proctoring.
